THOR Title Sequence

Hello viewers! This is a creation that I would like to call, "THOOOOOR!" Within my creation, I used three different types of computer software's to create it, which are Adobe After Affects, Adobe Photo Shop, and Autodesk Maya. Viewers, if you have notice, this is my very first creation that I have SUCCESSFULLY used Maya in, so I was and still am excited about this matter! Hopefully, any and everyone who watches this video is just as excited as I am!

The reason to why I choice to do a Thor Title Sequence is because I wanted to do something that was pertaining to someone and something to do with power and lighting. Once I set myself a couple of requirements for what I wanted to do, I quickly thought to myself, "Who do I know that has power and has control over lighting?" I scratched my head and I quickly thought of THOR! Thor was the perfect nominee!

In Adobe After Affects, I started off by creating my background with two planes (one navy blue and the other dark grey) in a perpendicular angle. I then imported my Thor's Hammer Maya File and my custom Thor Title (created in Adobe Photo Shop) into Adobe After Affects to make a title sequence out of the two. AFter importing the two files, I created four solid layers and placed four advance lighting effects to each of the solid layers (one advance lighting effect per solid layer). I then changed the origins of the lighting bolts to hit the bottom of Thor's Hammer, so when Thor's Hammer finally smack onto the x-coordinate plane, the lighting effects will appear.

In Adobe Photo Shop, I created my very own ORIGINAL title instead of getting one from Adobe After Affects. Whatever I decided to title my title, I wanted the letter to be chrome, so I started off by looking for a video on YouTube that explains how to created chrome letters. The very first video that I clicked on, searching on how to create chrome letters was amazing! I finally followed the instructions and created my chrome letters.

In Autodesk Maya, I first started by creating two polygonal shapes, which were one cylinder and one rectangular prism. The rectangular prism served as the actual mallet and the cylinder served as the handle. I then uploaded the materials for both the mallet and handle to look more like a Thor's type of hammer. After doing this, I combined and animated the two polygons/ hammer. Thor's mighty hammer first starts off by smashing into the floor, rising back up, and then finally turning around, so you can see the side of the hammer.

ENJOY!!!
